
Procedure for Elimination of Ties
Preliminary Judging
Tie for 5th place:
Add back the high and low Bootblack Skill, Personal Interview, Educational Presentation, and Personal Image scores for each of the tied contestants (scores should now be between 0-2,500).
Review for accuracy.
The re-calculated score for each of the tied contestants is compared and the highest score receives the Finalist position.
In the event that the tie remains unbroken, the contestant with the highest Bootblack Skill score receives the Finalist position.
If the tied contestants have the same total Bootblack Skill score, each judge (5 judges) will receive a list (by name and contestant number) of the remaining tied contestants and must select one (1) contestant ONLY.
Final Judging
Tie at Winner position:
Add back the high and low Bootblack Skill, Personal Interview, Educational Presentation, Personal Image, and Speech scores for each of the tied contestants (scores should now be between 0-3,625).
Review for accuracy.
The re-calculated score for each of the tied contestants is compared and the highest combined score receives the IMBB title.
The second highest re-calculated combined score receives the 1st Runner-Up title.
Referring back to the Total Final Scores - the next highest combined intied score receives the title of 2nd Runner-Up.
In the event that the tie remains unbroken, the contestant with the highest Bootblack Skill score receives the title of International Mr. Bootblack. The other contestant receives the First Runner-up title.
If the tied contestants have the same total Bootblack Skill score, each judge (5 judges) will receive a list (by name and contestant number) of the remaining tied contestants and must select one (1) contestant ONLY.
