Spot hails from San Antonio, TX and has been in the “leather community” since 1997.

His bootblack journey started with his Sir's boots and transitioned to an alternate bootblack at the DC Eagle. He credits the greatest learning working alongside other bootblacks and he’s still learning. 

Spot started Community Shine for people to have their leather cared for, and a Boot Lab for people to learn to care for their own leather. He hopes that it will inspire new Bootblacks, at the very least, people understand the work it takes to hone the skills to put on a really fantastic shine on a boot. Visibility breeds comfort and respect.  

He’s heard many stories in his chair about the origins of the wearer's leathers and boots. “Bootblacks don’t just care for your leather, they preserve its history.”
